Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries (CJAMM) announced the 2021 recipient last week during their virtual fundraising event. Longtime CJAMM board member and criminal justice advocate Virginia Gray was named as this 2021 recipient, according to Scott Davis, board chairman.
“The Stan Basler Award is given annually to honor an individual who has contributed their time and talents to the CJAMM ministries or made a huge impact in criminal justice across Oklahoma,” stated Keith Dobbs, CJAMM’s executive director. “Virginia has done both!”
She’s a wealth of knowledge about criminal justice, the founding of Exodus House Tulsa and Parsonage House in Tulsa, and even soliciting volunteers and churches to support clients in the program. Stan Basler, director emeritus for CJAMM, presented Virginia the prestigious honor that bears his name at a ceremony at Virginia’s residence at Trinity Woods, formally known as Oklahoma Methodist Manor in Tulsa.
